Incident Report: Widespread Google Cloud Outage Impacted Xchart Services

Today, a major global outage affected Google Cloud — the infrastructure provider that powers Xchart and countless other internet services. During this time, many of our users were unable to access the platform or experienced degraded performance.
We first detected the issue around 11:08 AM PST and updated our status page at 11:16 AM. We started seeing some signs of recovery around 12:19 PM, but it was not until around 1:43 PM, access to Xchart...

We're seeing elevated error rates but people are able to log in, etc. We'll be sending out a notification email describing what happened. Global Google Cloud outage.
